Popular for its bright pinnate foliage, Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' has clear yellow leaves in spring that turn lime green throughout the summer and golden yellow in autumn. Racemes of white pea-like fragrant flowers hang elegantly from the branches in May and June. The common name of False Acacia comes from these beautiful flowers that resemble those on Acacia. The flowers are followed by dark brown seeds that adorn the branches once the autumn leaf colour has fallen.
Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' is a stunning upright, medium sized ornamental tree that will grow to approximately 8 x 4 metres in 20 years. It will grow in most positions where exposure to wind is avoided. Well drained, acidic soils are preferred, but chalky soils or dry conditions will also be tolerated very well.
