Spindle is probably most noted for its autumnal colour whereby bright pink capsules open to reveal orange fruits and its leaves turn from deep green to blazing red. It often retains the fruits well into winter, even after the leaves have dropped and looks great in a sunny spot.
For the rest of the year, Euonymous Europaeus is a twiggy deciduous plant with dark pointed leaves which does well in all normal soils and situations, although it will tolerate coastal positions and slightly wet sites.
