Beech is not grown for its flowers or fruit, but for its superb foliage of delicate fluttery leaves with wavy edges, initially a soft green, then bright green and finally coppery.
Beech hedge plants are suitable for all soil types if it does not become waterlogged during very wet weather.
Fagus Sylvatica hedge plants will grow in full sun or partial shade, although of the site is rather shady the new hedge may be slower to develop and will need extra care.
