Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea' is a wonderful specimen tree with its strong, broad-headed growth habit. It displays a vibrant display of dark purple foliage over the summer months. This tree has excellent resistance to varied soil conditions and diseases, whilst also having the benefit of easily adapting to be grown as a hedge like the common beech.
