Description

Fennel, Bronze – Foeniculum vulgare ‘Purpureum’ is a tall attractive plant with striking bronze red feathery foliage. Small yellow flowers in large umbels in summer.  The flowers are simply irresistible to bees and hoverflies!

A striking addition to the border and popular with garden designers. This popular plant is seen often at the Chelsea Flower Show. The dark foliage really sets off flowers from other plants and combines well.

Fennel, Bronze is also a great culinary herb to grow. It has a milder flavour in comparison to Green fennel. The leaves are a tasty addition for many recipes, in particular fish dishes. 

The fronds are particularly attractive in flower arrangements, soak prior to use.

Medicinally known to aid digestion and prevent heartburn.
