In the winter, this shrub has clusters of scented yellow flowers hanging from bare branches. In autumn, the bright green leaves turn splendid shades of yellow, orange and red. It is a lovely specimen plant for a sunny winter border where its fragrance can be enjoyed. The flowering branches can be cut to display in winter. This shrub is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
