This witch hazel has clusters of spindly flowers in a deep shade of red, on its bare winter branches. Like all the witch hazels, it has a beautiful perfume and will fill the air with fragrance. This will make a lovely specimen shrub for a partially shaded spot, or even the edge of a woodland garden. In the Autumn the foliage changes from green to orange, red, yellow and all shades between before it finally sheds to reveal the flower buds forming for the winter period.
