Czar' is one of the most popular traditional and trusted dessert plum tree varieties with regular, medium to large sized purple fruits, round in shape. The fruits darken and acquire a sweet taste as they ripen. Heavy, regular crops of delicious plums are ready for harvesting in July, but the fruits can be left to fully ripe for much sweeter taste. They make fantastic jams and preserves, and taste equally as good when eaten straight from the tree. 'Czar' thrives in conditions where lesser plum trees would fail. Cold, shade and poor soil conditions are not a problem. 'Czar' plum trees are self-fertile and will produce a more than adequate crop of plums on their own without any other plum trees nearby.It has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit given by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS
