For several months from June, the tall, erect stems of Verbena Bonariensis are topped with clusters of tiny lilac-purple flowers. It's nectar-rich flowers will help sustain bees and butterflies well into autumn. It’s perfect for bringing height to an ornamental border and also works well in prairie-style planting schemes with ornamental grasses. It’s a superb butterfly plant, rivalling even buddleja.
