Chamaecyparis 'Castlewellan Gold' – Golden Leylandii | 300cm+ | 45L Pot
Instant height and year-round golden colour. 'Castlewellan Gold' was raised at Castlewellan in Co. Down and is one of the best-known golden conifers for fast, dense screening. At 3 metres plus, these specimens give you real privacy from the day they go in.
The soft, feathery foliage is bright golden-yellow in spring and summer, then deepens to rich bronze-gold through winter. That makes it a warm, bright alternative to the darker green of standard leylandii. It forms a tight, dense screen that blocks views and filters wind and noise.

Planting guide
Plant around 1 per metre for an instant screen. Choose a sunny position to get the strongest golden colour, as plants in shade turn greener. Stake on exposed sites until established, and water well through the first growing season. Trim two or three times a year, between April and August, to keep the hedge dense. Avoid cutting back into old brown wood, because it will not regrow.
